MECHANICAL OIL PRESS

is a part of the soy processing line

 

 

SCOPE AND PURPOSE:

 

The oil press has been designed for

pressing vegetable oil from soybeans

obtaining the oil cake

 

 

RAW MATERIAL: full fat soy (right after extruder)

 

 

Extrusion increases the oil press efficiency and oil yield as this process leads to the rupture of the oil cells that's why the soy oil pressed out easily.

Feedstock is fed into the receiving hopper of the oil press

Inside the press cage the screw conveys the feedstock agains the cage bars this leads to squeezing the oil out between the gaps of 1 - 0,1 mm.

 

As a result of the pressure and shear the material is compressed and oil is released.

Oil flows through the gaps of press cage and goes into the tray.

The oil cake is discharged from press cage, it is crushed and removed from the oil press into oil cake transportation system.

 

 

The important parts of the mechanical oil press:

 

Press cage: The construction that consists of the screw and cage bars. When the feedstock moves through this section oil seeps out into the oil reservoir below.

 

Screw: It conveys the feedstock through the press cage and against the cage bars. The action creates shear as being conveyed against the cage bars the feedstock is pressed out and the oil yields.

 

Cage bars: The parts of the press cage that work with the screw creating shear and out press out of the feedstock.
