The rapeseed, canola seeds should be cleaned of the impurities and dried up to 6-8%. First the seeds are fed inside the grain preheater GH-1000. The rapeseeds are heated up to the temperature 15-20°С which is proper and fitting one for the cold oil pressing technology. Right after the feedstock has been preheated it is fed into the operative hopper of GH-1000.
STEP №1. PRELIMINARY OIL PRESSING
The next step is feeding the rapeseed feedstock into the oil press RP-500 where the preliminary cold oil pressing is done.
The RP-500 is the mechanical oil press used as preliminary press in the double pressing line. The number of shaft rotation in the RP-500 is regulated by a frequency converter.
Canola seeds are compressed in a press chamber
Caution!
Never open the cover while the oil press is in operation.
The preliminary oil press gives 60% of oil. Process temperature is up to 60°С.
The final products we get are the cold pressed oil and half-fatted oil cake (meal) with the oil content 25-30%
The oil cake is moved by a screw conveyor to the extruder E-1000
STEP №2. CANOLA PROCESSING IN EXTRUDER
Inside the extruder E-1000 the following processes occur:
The oil cake is conveyed forward by the screw inside the extruder barrel. Under the high shear it is compressed, mixed and heated up to 105-115 °С. From the extruder the oil cake is fed into the ventilated screw conveyor. The steam that evaporates from the oil cake is discharged through the nozzles in the feeder lid.
Steam exhaust is regulated by a valve on the nozzle.
The oil cake with the temperature of 80-90°С moves to the oil press RP-1000 to the final oil pressing.
STEP №3. FINAL OIL PRESSING
The mechanical oil extraction occurs at temperature of 90-100°C. The number of shaft revolutions in the RP-1000 press is regulated by a frequency converter
The final oil cake contains 10% of oil. Right after the oil has been squeezed it is sent for filtration and storage.
STEP №4. COOLING THE OIL CAKE DOWN
The final stage is cooling of the oil cake with the help of BRONTO COOLER OE-1000
The cooler's tumbler rotates and stirs the oil cake down to the discharge section afterwards it is moved to a storage warehouse.
As a result we receive 2 valuable products:
- rapeseed oil
- rapeseed cake
