OIL PRESS / EXPELLER / SCREW-TYPE PRESS FOR SOY OIL CAKE PRODUCTION

Mechanical method for extracting oil from raw materials is the safest one, no chemicals and as a result you get perfect final products.

A screw-type press, oil press or expeller is the common name for mechanical extraction machine. The screw press is called so because of the screw feeder installed inside the press cage. With the help of screw feeder and set of screw flights, the raw material is moved and pressed along the press cage.The press cage itself consists of cage bars which number in hundreds, tightly pressed against each other.

The gaps between the cage bars are reduced by 1 mm from the inlet of soy extrudate to 0,1 mm to the discharge of soybean oil cake.

The diameter of the press cage decreases, the chambers are spaced tighter from the inlet towards the outlet of the oil press, it means that the first chamber is a larger diameter and has the less pressure inside, the next chambers are smaller diameter plus the pressure that occurs inside is much higher. 

At the same time the depth and pitch of the screw flights also decreases. It results in consistent pressing of the raw material being moved along the press cage chambers.  

The oil yields through the gaps between the press cages and gathers into the oil receiver below.

The press cake is discharged with the oil content of 7-8%. 

Please consider that the oil cake temperature is high (up to 100 degrees Celsius) that’s why it should be immediately fed into the cooler.
